Cool. I had no idea Prada did (funded?) these kinds of creative endeavors.
prada is very much into art, architecture and stuff. they have a museum called fondazione prada. i think mariko mori was one of the first artists that they exhibited several years ago. this young artist’s work is simply amazing, and i like his website, too.
I expected James Jean’s inspired animation since the day Prada anounced it. I was able to see it on youtube the day of the presentation (5) and I simply love it. It’s so inspiring in terms of smell! You can forget all Prada scents (+ their boutique) and keep only this imaginary flower. I can say only … wow, that’s a hard brief to work on as a perfumer. I hope they will translate it in a fragrance, maybe ambiental, maybe a scratch&sniff fragrance on their big wallpaper in NY store.
I saw it on the the same day, but the effect was gradual for me. I ran into this video on other blogs for a few times, and started to really like it along with James Jaen’s work. On the other hand, I don’t care much about Murakami’s work in general. We were at the same school, and the post was just a salute.
Haha!Nobi-san,I think so too about Murakami’s Art work. I don’t care about his art work but I care about his marketing and plot(LOL).
I love what Prada did & do. I really admire their taste for the art. Especially Prada Aoyama by Herzog & De Meuron. And this time, what a beautiful imagination! Cocorosie are A+.
Now I’m in a trouble. To buy Noah’s Ark by cocorosie is too fearful as much as to buy collection book of Hans Bellmer…
Prada Aoyama is an absolute masterpiece. Another masterpiece in the area is Tod’s by Toyo Ito. I’ve never thought Toyo Ito would make such a great building. They are both not big and deserve to be called 珠玉.
