We had a short series of posts last year showing houses and a building designed by Katsutoshi Sasaki in Aichi, Japan. The latest project completed by his firm last month has a unique shape to help reduce wind resistance due to the strong western wind in the area during winter..

[...] Eco-friendly architecture has led to the creation of intricate designs that promote the co-existence of natural weather conditions with man-made buildings. Resulting from these purposeful concepts is increased longevity of the architecture built, and also some of the most creative, out of the box aesthetics for your viewing pleasure. The Ogaki House in Aichi, Japan designed by Katsutoshi Sasaki is no exception. Boasting an aerodynamic shape, the classic pyramid design is built to reduce wind resistance at a location particularly effected by harsh Western winds. The interior further represents the building’s synchronization with natural elements as a variety of wooden materials are used to finish the majority of surfaces. Check out Sasaki’s contemporary blueprint, including a fitting indoor garden featuring branches that shoot to the building’s apex. Source [...]
