The High:
Damien Hirst’s “The Golden Calf” (2008) sold for £10,345,250 ($18,661,796) during the artist’s most audacious stunt yet: a straight-from-the-studio auction of primary market material that earned £111,576,800 at Sotheby’s.
 

The Low:
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, facing financial ruin, decided to accept a $30 million bailout offer from billionaire Eli Broad.
