Before Ando, there was Azuma.<\/p>\n

In 1966, architect Takamitsu Azuma bought a tiny lot (about 220 square feet) in Tokyo, which was a leftover from a subdivision, and decided to built his studio and a home there.<\/p>\n

The small “Tower House” inspired many young Japanese to become architects and became the symbol of modern residential architecture in Japan.<\/p>\n

Today, the house is on the trendiest street in Tokyo but has not lost its allure at all.<\/p>\n
