{"id":15619,"date":"2011-05-25T07:35:58","date_gmt":"2011-05-25T11:35:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whatwedoissecret.org\/madebyblog\/?p=15619"},"modified":"2016-05-09T13:07:14","modified_gmt":"2016-05-09T17:07:14","slug":"light-blue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whatwedoissecret.org\/madebyblog\/2011\/05\/light-blue\/","title":{"rendered":"Light Blue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Light Blue Sized\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/whatwedoissecret.org\/madebyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Light-Blue-Sized.jpg?w=600&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>On paper, Light Blue is one of the last fragrances I would expect to like. \u00a0With a taste for dark, spicy orientals and an affinity for niche brands, a bright, sunny citrusy blockbuster from Dolce and Gabbana is something I would typically brush off as &#8216;not my thing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, I am shocked and delighted to admit that I absolutely love this fragrance. \u00a0Nothing pleases me more than being surprised by my own taste, and expanding my palate to this new dimension feels like an exotic vacation from all of the ambers, spices, resins and rich woods to which I am magnetically attracted.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Light Blue Ad Sized\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/whatwedoissecret.org\/madebyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Light-Blue-Ad-Sized.jpg?w=600&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Light Blue sparkles, or better yet, glistens with the effervescent edge of Sicilian lemon and green apple notes. \u00a0The brilliance of the fragrance though, and what captures my attention, is the perfect balance of the wetness of these notes with the drying facet of amber and musk. \u00a0The scent glides seamlessly, fearlessly, across this tightrope \u2013 the horizon where the sun hits the water. \u00a0Warm, dry, and encompassing, yet dewy, splashy, and vibrant. \u00a0And just as the sun collides with the water\u2019s surface refracting light in infinite pixels, the molecules in Light Blue\u2019s formula \u2013 in some beautiful, magical chemical harmony \u2013 do just the same thing: produce light, create energy.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Mario Testino Light Blue Ad\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/whatwedoissecret.org\/madebyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Mario-Testino-Light-Blue-Ad.jpg?w=600&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>There is something super nostalgic about the sweet and tart green apple notes here. \u00a0Growing up in the 90s, this was an extremely popular smell for young girls, present in lip glosses, shower gels, body splashes and sparkly lotions from the likes of The Limited Too, Bath and Body Works, Bonne Belle and Delia*s. \u00a0I even had a green apple scented nail polish &#8211; which at the time was an olfactory revelation &#8211; imagine:\u00a0<em>scented nail polish<\/em>!
