“The aim of the design is to give the client more freedom regarding the setting they want to have their meeting in.”<\/i>
\n
\nDesigned by Dutch firm 123DV architectuur & consult<\/b><\/a>, the newly expanded 32,300 square-foot facility of Media Plaza with 8 meeting rooms opened in the Jaarbeurs complex last September.<\/p>\n

Jaarbeurs Utrecht is the central junction of the transportation located in the center of the Netherlands. It is a site for nearly any occasion, from a small meeting to a week long conference, an art fair or a trade show, there are all kinds of venues to meet every need. The Media Plaza is one of them.<\/p>\n

An important part of the design is playing with different projection methods and light sources, which are “moving light”, “artificial light”, and “day light”.<\/p>\n

\nMoving light \u2013 interactive projection<\/span>
\nTwo tunnels give access to the new Media Plaza. This transition is emphasized with interactive projection on the floor. Moving images respond to the movement of people.<\/p>\n

\nDay light \u2013 open sky<\/span>
\nThe main congress hall (700 people) is designed with a 100% transparent ETFE roof to provide the experience of having a congress meeting under the open sky \u2013 like in the ancient amphitheatres.<\/p>\n

\nArtificial light \u2013 light walls and light ceilings<\/span>
\nLED light walls in the foyer and light ceilings made of fabric in the session rooms (the image at the top) can change in colour to create different atmospheres. When required the colour of the rooms can be adjusted in for example the colour of the company (logo) of the client.<\/p>\n
