I must apologize for not reviewing the two new mods sooner. Life has been hectic in more ways than hundred. Perhaps, I have also been reluctant to write about the latest mods, because I can feel the end of the project is near. The Holy Grail can be almost visible (or smellable, heh) on the horizon. And this has been so much fun and so much excitement that…well, can you blame me for not wanting to let it go?

Anyway, the last two mods. I liked them a lot, but not as much as R6/T, one of the two previous mods, the one that I call Gardenia and Leather. When I reviewed R6/T, I asked Clement to make it a little softer, to get rid of some of the leather and to give me more, more, more gardenia. The two new mods show that the scent has indeed become softer. It is still, however, much too heavy on leather for my taste, and I don’t get enough gardenia.

So this time I would like to ask Clement to do just two things: less leather, MORE GARDENIA. heaps and heaps of gardenia, gallons and bushels of it. Basically, as much gardenia as can be possible.

After that, I think, we will be done. *sigh*

Yikes, you are becoming like the “More-Cowbell” guy: MORE GARDENIA, MORE GARDENIA!! Whoda thunk it?! I like the leather, myself.:)

I liked the leather but it’s not about me. There are lots of leather scents. There will only be one Marina’s Holy Grail.

I think I agree with you on the ‘more gardenia’..there seemed less gardenia in these mods as compared to one of the previous ones(I think it was R6/T though I dont exactly recall..which smelled like a little bit of gardenia swimming in leather, making me crave for just a leetle more gardenia..:)).

Cant wait to smell the next mods.

    Judith,
If you told me a year ago that I’d be like that, I’d have laughed 🙂

    Gary,
Thank you. But there are also lots of gardenia scents. We have to strike a balance, which will make the scent – I will put it modestly :-)- unique! 🙂

    Lavanya,
Ah! You support me re: gardenia 🙂

Ooh, I totally agree. I want more gardenia too. The leather still predominates in both, although I get more florals in U than V. Yet V is softer overall and a bit buttery at the moment. Very very interesting.

    C, good, I am glad!

I love the new mods, they both seemed softer, rounder, more “finished”. The R7/V mod is my favorite – Gardenia and leather, but the leather has been pushed back already. The gardenia is very pleasing- not hyper sweet, nor too narcotic, it calls to mind the slightly waxen, thick & fleshy aspect of the petals of the flower without becoming heavy … Something similar to dry peach and vanilla notes seem to smooth and beautify the composition. The leather is very discreet and lovely! I disagree in subtracting it any more, because it is not often such a well done note as it is here. I have been wearing both mods U and V – and would positively buy either for regular rotation in my frargance wardrobe.

    Treazurekitten,
It is wonderful to know you liked them so much!

Marina, I liked the last two mods better, too. Loved them, in fact. The ones before thoose were also great. I’ve grown to love the gardenia-leather–such a neat idea, and there’s been none like it since Jolie Madame and this is nothing like that–it’s really modern and classic at the same time. These next two smelled soapier to me, almost like 31 Rue Cambon, maybe with a tinge of Daim Blond. I’m looknig forward to the perfected Holy Grail.
