Gora Kadan not far from Tokyo has been a popular hideaway for celebrities from Japan and abroad for some time. This traditional Japanese inn, which was built in 1989, has a comfortable mix of modern and traditional style of architecture. It is one of the earlier buildings designed by Kiyoshi “Sey” Takeyama of Amorphe. Located in a beautiful scenic area of Hakone, the hotel has a world-class spa and one of the best Kaiseki restaurant in the country. If you are on a business trip to Tokyo and have few days to relax, it’s worth making the hour-long trip to spend a night or two at this wonderful place.
